Round 2 This Sunday May 20, Midway MX, Lebanon, MO

Season Off to a Great Start

Great On-track Duels Match the Great Weather

Round 1 of the Series is in the books, and it was a great one! A foggy morning gave way to a sunny afternoon of low 70's temperatures, with a little cool breeze to set the tone for some hot racing action. Josh Garner (#3) took home the Pro class honors, after finishing second in the first moto to Thomas Gage (#584) in a duel that never saw them separated by more than a second or two. Josh even made a pass in the middle of the moto, but Thomas responded and took back the lead. The second moto started the same way, with Gage guiding his BBR in front of Garner's Piranha, but Garner wasn't ready to give up. He hounded Gage for several laps until Thomas spun slightly coming out of a corner and veered to the side, leaving room for Josh to pass and make it stick for the overall.

The pros weren't the only ones having duels. The youth were combined into one moto, and all through the field there was racing going on, including a last lap, last turn pass by Caden Neubauer (#27), who won the 50 class.

The Vet class was gated with the 12" Amateurs, and they weren't afraid to rub a little plastic with the young'uns! Fantasy Jim took the overall, but Chad Mullins was racing like a rockstar on his new KLX110. The 10" guys were a lttle lonely this time, in large part because of Mother's Day on the rescheduled date. Zach Smoot (#00) took the win over Jake Baker (#10). In the 12" Amateur, Kyle Lebow took the win when he pushed by Josh Thompson (#90) in the second moto. Bryan Buck (#113) from Grave Clothing pushed hard, despite being knocked around a little by some old guys.

All told, it was a fine day and a fun day. Lots of new faces at the track, friendships renewed. And the next chance to do it all again is this coming Sunday for Round 2 at Midway MX. Same times as last time. Gates open at 10, practice starts at 1. Smiles all day long!
